HISTORY

Holland Manufacturing Co. was established by Jack W. Holland in 1958 as a manufacturing facility to produce water activated sealing tape for the packaging industry.

While the history is rooted in water activated tape, product development and targeted, strategic acquisitions have allowed Holland Manufacturing to expand its portfolio to offer a unique mix of products, serving numerous industries and a broad spectrum of applications.

For nearly 60 years, we have focused on creating great products, backed by exceptional service. We built our business by getting to know our customers and their businesses. When you call Holland Manufacturing, you get a person, who cares about your business.

To this day, Holland Manufacturing remains a privately held company with manufacturing facilities located in New Jersey, Massachusetts, and South Carolina.

COMPANY HISTORY

Holland Manufacturing Founded

Holland Manufacturing Co. was founded by Jack W. Holland to produce water activated sealing tape for the packaging industry. An in-house designed and constructed 60” wide laminating and gumming line, as well as 4 water activated tape slitters, were installed as the foundation of the company’s manufacturing capability.

1958

Capacity Expansion: Gumming Line

Holland designs and builds a 72” wide gumming line to apply water activated adhesive systems to tape and other specialty products.

1969

Capability Expansion: Aqueous Coating

Holland installs a 116” wide triple stage air knife coater with inline calendaring for aqueous based coating.

1974

Capacity Expansion: Hot Melt & Asphalt Laminating

Holland designs and builds 120” wide reinforcing hot melt/asphalt laminating line to triple capacity to produce reinforced base materials.

1981

Acquisition: Nashua Corporation

Holland acquires the gummed tape division of the Nashua Corporation. Holland integrated several machines and the business into the Succasunna, NJ facility.

1988

Office Expansion

Holland adds on a 12,000 square foot office expansion to house all corporate office activity.

1989

Passing of Holland’s Founder

Passing of Holland’s Founder – Jack W. Holland. Jack A. Holland is named President & CEO.

1990

Acquisition: Fortifiber

Holland Manufacturing purchases an extrusion coating operation in Attleboro, MA from the Fortifiber Corporation, expanding Holland’s capabilities with an additional 200,000 sq. ft. manufacturing space.

The facility increased capacity by expanding Holland’s capabilities to include wide-width co-extrusion coating and laminating, while broadening the range of substrates processed, which are comprised of paperboard, film, foil, nonwoven and woven fabrics.

2009

Expanded Our Product Lines

Holland acquired Ringel Brothers, Inc. and Pace Labels. These additions expanded Holland’s capabilities, product lines, and distribution network.

Ringel Brothers had been a long-term regional distribution partner in the NY/NJ market, servicing the industrial packaging and construction supply market with quality industrial paper products.

Pace Labels produces labels, tags and printed tapes with 6 color capability, and narrow width slitting.

2015

Winner in the 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 PICA Awards Competition

The Printing Industry of the Carolinas (PICA) announced that our Labels division was an award winner in the 2014 PICA Awards Competition. The PICA Awards competition is one of the largest printing contests in the nation.

2015

Product Launched at 2015 Pack Expo: 4 Color Printed Water Activated Tape

At the 2015 Pack Expo in Las Vegas, Holland launches new 4 Color Process Printed Water Activated Tape.

2015

Holland becomes third generation, family-owned business

Blair Holland becomes the President & COO of Holland Manufacturing.

2017

The Total Solution Packaging Station Launched at Pack Expo

Holland debuted the Total Solution Packaging Station at the 2017 Pack Expo in Las Vegas, NV.

2017
