Water activated tape is a paper tape with an adhesive that, when activated by water, forms a permanent bond to the package that is pilfer proof and tamper evident.  The tape performs well in extreme temperature conditions, and it is not affected by dirt or dust.

Most packages can be sealed with water activated tape, including corrugated cartons, envelopes, and paper.  However, it is not recommended on glossy surfaces.
